Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max : A16 Bionic

New this year on both iPhone 14 Pro Max models is the A16 Bionic chip, which replaces the A15 Bionic chip found on the older models. The A16 Bionic comes with a 6-core GPU with two performance and four efficiency cores plus a five-core GPU. There’s also a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says the new A16 is the fastest chip in a smartphone ever and 40 percent faster than the competition. The GPU is accelerated with 50 percent more bandwidth.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max : Display

The Super Retina XDR display .6.7‑inch (diagonal) all‑screen OLED  displays found on this year’s iPhone are significantly different than the ones on last year’s models once you get beyond size. First, for the first time, both models will have an Always-On display, which makes it possible to read Lock Screen information in the dark, such as the time, widgets, and Live Activities. This is powered by LTPO and a new 1Hz refresh rate option that keeps the display on while preserving the battery.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max : Camera

Besides Dynamic Island and the Always-On display, the Apple iPhone 14 pro max camera systems are noted for its improved camera features. That camera system offers 48MP Main, 12MP Ultra Wide, and 12MP Telephoto lenses, with the main aperture now ƒ/1.78 aperture. There’s also a new Photonic Engine that takes computational photography to fun new levels. It’s designed to offer a significant lead for mid to low-light photo performance across all the available cameras.

battery life even with so many
new capabilities

There haven’t been many battery changes between this year’s Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max models and the last. The only change comes with video playback. On the iPhone 14 Pro, video playback jumps from 22 to 23 hours; on the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it jumps from 28 to 29 hours. Both models support fast charging delivers 50% charge in around 30 minutes with a 20W adapter or higher.

Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection

Two new features not discussed above are Emergency SOS via satellite and Crash Detection. The former will become available beginning in November and will be free for two years with the activation of any iPhone 14 model. The latter, which is also available on the newest Apple Watches, will be able to detect when you’re in a crash, and will promptly call 911.
